Help & Advice for care

We know it can be a difficult decision looking for a care home that will support a loved one. We’ve put together some information to help you find what’s important when choosing a care home so that you can relax knowing that you have considered your options.

Visit Us

We welcome visits to the care home by appointment only. By booking an appointment we can ensure a dedicated member of team will be available. This allows you to see first-hand how your loved one will be cared for. You can ask us questions about our staff, policies, and the services we offer. Our regulatory report and reviews are also available to view to reassure you that you make the right decision.

Cost

There are many options available to support you or a loved one when looking at the cost of care homes. We have lots of experience supporting our residents to gain the right support package they need for the care they are looking for. You can find more financial advice and support here.

 Location

Colne is a popular market town located in Lancashire, on the eastern edge of the beautiful Pendle Hill area.

The town has grown and evolved over the years, and today it is a bustling and vibrant community. It has a range of amenities and attractions, including shops, restaurants, cafes, and pubs all within easy reach of Albert House.

The town has a strong sense of community, and there are many events and festivals throughout the year that bring residents of Albert House together with the wider community.

 Care Home Services

Care home services provide residential care for individuals who are no longer able to live independently due to age, disability, or other health conditions. These services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are provided by both private like Albert House or by public organisations.

There are different types of care homes in the UK, including:

Residential Care Homes: These homes provide accommodation, meals, and personal care for older people and people with disabilities. They usually have trained staff available 24 hours a day to provide support with daily living activities.

Nursing Homes: Nursing homes provide 24-hour nursing care for people with complex health needs. They have trained nursing staff on hand to provide medical care and support with daily living activities.

Dementia Care Homes: These homes specialise in providing care for people with dementia and offer a safe and secure environment for residents. They have staff trained to support people with dementia and provide activities that can improve their quality of life.

Respite Care Homes: Respite care homes offer short-term stays for people who need temporary support, such as after a hospital stay or to provide a break for family members who are caring for a loved one.

The cost of care home services in the UK can vary depending on the type of home, location, and level of care required. Some people may be eligible for financial assistance to help cover the costs of care.
